I am killing time in the office watching and reading a lot of Privateer Press for the past couple of hours and I figured that any reader of this site would enjoy this video.
I am very new to this table top hobby and should just be getting ( buying ) my 3rd Hordes unit later today. I am so amazed at all the characters that Warmachine and Hordes has to offer though as I find them very original and nothing like your usual aliens and other usual stuffs.
If you are into robots, much more steampunk designs... then Warmachine is the perfect stuff to go!
The video below features the upcoming Warmachine Collosals of both the Cygnar ( blue ) faction and a glimpse of the collosal of the Khador ( red ) faction. Both are great stuff! Although I find the Khador Collosal a bit more menacing. Do check out the video and hope non-Warmachine and Hordes fan gets to like these great wargaming stuff more after seeing these huge Collosals!

Really really cool stuff I came across at CMON ( CoolMiniOrNot ).

I managed to finished the base color of the armor parts of all the 10 Fennblades today and will finish the armor parts with light silver later. I am currently painting the base color of the orange cloth but I am getting tired as I am using some lousy Tamiya synthetic / nylon brushes.
I know that cheap synthetic brushes does not last long with acrylics as the acrylics being resin base and such, eats up the brushes and ruins them easily. Not really sure with my explanation on how synthetic brushes cannot withstand acrylics... but I do know I need a couple of expensive sable brushes soon.
Will be investing on new brushes after today ( waiting for payday ) and should paint faster by then. I am happy with the armor parts so far though. I painted them Bestial Brown, then over brushed with Boltgun Metal. I then gave them some black oil paint washes and added light silver highlights. Looks nice and contrasty I think.
The orange base color is taking me around 7 thin layers before it gets opaque... no wonder miniature painters do not use yellow and oranges as much. They are just too transparent! Kinda weird though as I find my Vallejo reds has better coverage than the orange and yellows ( might be normal ). The Vallejo blues are sooo easy to hand paint as they have great coverage.
Anyways I will also be painting a 3.5 inch Incredible Hulk soon... basically a commission work from an officemate. Once I get new brushes... should finish these Fennblades soon.

As I am practically killing time here in the office, I figured I'd share with you some Warmachine / Hordes artworks by the artists commissioned by Privateer Press.
Awesome breathtaking stuffs that I would use in my blog posts from time to time. Same as the models themselves, the artworks shows the attention of detail design put into each character of Warmachine and Hordes. And much like the models themselves, each artwork is shouting character and originality! Great stuff as always that any fan would love to have quick access to!

As I build up my Trollbloods army and if my budget permits get to slowly build up a Cygnar or Protectorate of Menoth army, I think there will be a time I would want to paint something " yellow ". I would not want to paint my whole ( future ) Cygnar army yellow, much more paint a Protectorate of Menoth yellow! So I just saw the perfect candidates for custom color schemes, heavy weathering and absurd paint jobs... I introduce to you the Warjacks of the Mercenaries!
The Mercenaries as their names suggest are in fact your usual mercenaries. They are homeless and are just paid hunch men. Anyone who could afford these killer people could have them on their side. Ruthless things that only speaks the money language. So I personally think being " color " less or badge less or country less... makes them the perfect candidates for personal custom color schemes!
Painting these guys yellow or even in rainbow colors does not matter I think... so unlike starting an army of the other Warmachine factions, these Mercenaries Warjacks could be your usual random buy.

As I build up my Trollbloods army and if my budget permits get to slowly build up a Cygnar or Protectorate of Menoth army, I think there will be a time I would want to paint something " yellow ". Nothing special with the bases of my Fennblades as I thought of just giving them ordinary bases as they are just units anyways.
I just need to paint and pick up a few details on the basing and add the usual static grass after everything has been painted. Detail painting a few small pebbles on the base should complete it soon. I am pretty happy that the skulls on all the bases looks okay after painting even if they are sculpted poorly ( by yours truly )... I am pretty sure skulls with better sculpting should look great next time.
Noticed that the skin are also done... highlights and washes has been added and I hope that the blending and highlighting looks good on the final photos. I am now moving on to painting the armor and clothes this weekend... hope to finish these minis soon!
